Use of Smartphone Cameras and Other Applications While Traveling to Sustain Outdoor Cultural Heritage

Outdoor cultural heritage is exposed to several detrimental factors, so involving people in its care can greatly help preservation. We conducted four focus groups with participants recruited through a screening questionnaire find ways of including travelers citizen science project by learning about how they interact monuments photography, travel apps, and location-based games, as well their preferences regarding these apps. Since be apprehensive installing new we also verified the potential games like Geocaching Pokémon Go for conservation. found that appear photographic motif if allow interaction, are part photogenic scene or visitor attracted story. Some use apps get additional information sights discover hidden sites. frequently gameplay, there significant not only tourism, but projects heritage. While descriptive nature, findings provide useful insight into combine ubiquitous devices, smart consumer behavior, protection more sustainable future.
